Mike Searle, (DIP PT), body4life Founder & Training Director

Background: A successful endurance athlete, Coach and Personal Trainer with 20 years competition and training experience, Mike Searle is the innovator and designer of the unique and hugely successful body4life training systems. With an extensive competition background and a wealth of experience in helping people of all ages and all levels of fitness improve the quality of their lives, Mike has set the unrivalled standards of Personal Training that have become synonymous with body4life.

Media: Much in demand as a motivational speaker and in the media, Mike has also been the Health & Fitness Editor for realbuzz.com (the UK's largest health & fitness website), producing Training Plans, fitness articles, blogs, exercise video downloads and reviewing fitness equipment. Mike also contributes to a wide range of media publications and writes his own weekly newspaper column 'Your Personal Trainer'.

Whilst helping Take That's singer/songwriter/producer Gary Barlow prepare for their comeback tour, he filmed extensively with Gary for the documentary 'Take That for the Record'.

Mike's first book, 'How to get fitter . . . faster' was published in 2008.

Miscellaneous: Mike's personal goal and ethos is to help people improve the quality of their lives through improved health and fitness and outside of body4life he is happily married with two wonderful daughters.

Alison Cairns , (DIP PT),  Personal Trainer and Injury & Rehabilitation Specialist

Background: A successful runner, mountain-biker and rock climber, Alison Cairns is an outdoor enthusiast with a particular interest in long-term training strategies for injury prevention; a skill which she brings to tremendous effect for for her Personal Training Clients. Her dedicated and passionate approach to health and fitness, combined with her innovative and fun workouts always ensures that her sessions are exciting, motivating and bring maximum results.

 

Alison is a fantastic all-rounder with excellent total body strength, flexibility, co-ordination and cardiovascular fitness and always focuses on a ‘whole body’ approach to training; leading by example.

Achievements: In addition to competing in road races up to and including the Half-Marathon, Alison has climbed all but 8 of the 284 Scottish ‘Munros’ (Scottish mountains over 3,000 feet) and she is an accomplished on and off-piste skier. She is also President of the UK’s only National Women’s climbing club and is currently training specifically to improve her half marathon personal best.

 

 

Tony Bargh, (DIP PT),  Personal Trainer and Injury & Rehabilitation Specialist

Background: A successful runner, cyclist and triathlete, Tony Bargh specialises in Sports Therapy and working one-to-one rehabilitating people from injury. As a fully qualified Injury Therapist and Personal Trainer, he combines these roles to great effect, helping Clients of all ages work towards their personal health and fitness goals. Extremely dedicated, Tony's creative approach to exercises and training, combined with his sense of humour and easy going personality, make him extremely popular with Clients of all ages.

With his extensive physiological knowledge, Tony oversees the body4life Training Academy, helping induct newly qualified body4life Trainers to the exemplary body4life standards of professionalism.

Achievements: In addition to competing over an extensive range of distances on the roads, in each of the last four years, Tony has led teams in the 4 Peaks Challenge, which involves climbing the four highest mountains in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales within 48 hours. He also has completed The Great Lakeland Challenge, an arduous triathlon event in the Lake District, involving canoeing, cycling and mountain climbing.

Tony is currently focusing upon Triathlon and is a regular competitor in local events.

Background: In a unique and inspired move, Sharon Deveney-Douglas joined body4life to perfectly complement the existing range of services by providing 'the icing on the cake' so that Clients not only feel good, they look good as well. Trained at the prestigious Alicia Kite Academy of Style and Image Consultants, she also has over 15 years experience in the fashion industry, where she worked in both Paris and London coordinating fashion shows and also as a leading fashion buyer.

Whether it's a complete image overhaul, styling solutions, seasonal trends, or a wardrobe workout, Sharon brings her extensive industry knowledge and ultimate professionalism to all her Clients, male or female, so that you always make the right impression. Her key skills can save you money and valuable time, particularly with her 'shop with or for you' service.

When Sharon is not helping Clients with their styling and wardrobe choices, she enjoys road running.

Background: Mike McShane joined body4life in 2006, providing much needed accountancy and business support to the body4life Team. Having worked within and run many successful business, Mike's extensive portfolio of business skills and acumen has proved invaluable in developing the business and providing support and direction across a wide range of business issues.

When not working in the business field, Mike enjoys competing in a wide range of road running races from 5K to the marathon, with over 20 successful marathons completed to date.
